Bear Grylls – Chief Scout’s Visit to Northampton
On 19th November 2011, Bear Grylls made a visit to Northampton to surprise the Scouts that were taking part in activities at Overstone Camping Ground. It was part of his ‘Bear In The Air’ tour where he’s visiting every Scouting county in the UK.
He was amazing with the kids, totally down to Earth – taking them on at shooting, waiting open mouthed for them to fire Mashmallows at him, helping build a bridge and showing a group how to tie a tripod… I think he had a go at every activity that was going on at the site. Even the kids who were cooking on a fire got a bit of fire-keeping advice!
